As a healthcare provider enters dosage and infusion rate information in the IV System, the software accesses the health system's drug library and compares the order against a present standard for minimum and maximum doses. Cutting Edge Medical ServicesDr. Richard A Conn, orthopedic surgeon with Southern Bone & Joint Specialists, P.A., was the first physician in the United States to perform a hip resurfacing procedure with the Cormet Hip Resurfacing System, since receiving FDA approval, and he performed the procedure at Wesley Medical Center. Dr. Conn has now trained more than 100 physicians from across the U.S. in this procedure. The Institute for Wellness and Sports Medicine (IWSM), located on the campus, is a full-service fitness facility offering fitness classes, cardio equipment, weight training, full-court basketball, racquetball, swimming, biking, nutrition assistance and dance classes. IWSM is connected to the hospital so that patients can easily transition to their faily workouts or rehabilitation sessions. IWSM is open to the public and has several membership options. Wesley also reaches out to the community through health education, health screenings and health fairs.
