For over twenty years 9-1-1 Emergency Services have existed. Today with enhanced technology E-9-1-1 emergency response has improved a great deal. Every Wireline(landline) telephone number that is issued has an E-9-1-1 physical address so when 9-1-1 is called the correct information will display on a dispatcher's screen allowing the appropriate emergency agencies to respond.

If you have a Cellular Telephone, your location will show your GPS Coordinates. Please make sure with your Cellular Carrier that your Cell Phone has a GPS Chip located in it and that it is activated for this purpose.

Lamar County E-9-1-1's Addressing role in this system is to see that every structure in the county has an E-9-1-1 address for the Emergency Responders can locate you within a timely manner. If you do not know your address, please contact this Office and we will assist you in obtaining it.
